I had DMC4 for a lil while until I sold it to kenny. I thought it sucked, didn't like Nero, Dante was badass but when you got to him you replayed the same levels, story was wack, game was not as challenging and fun as 3, etc., etc. IMO DMC4 was a babified version for rookie action gamers. I was one of the few who didn't complain about DMC3's difficulty. 3's Normal was a solid difficulty for me went through it with no frustration but 4's normal was a cakewalk. In 4 you didn't take any real damage, the style meter was very very VERY easy to keep up, and numerous continue options if you happen to screw up. In 3 you got hit it hurt, maxing out your style meter was a challenge and required you to keep a constantly fresh combo, button-mashing and not reading enemy patterns = instant death, when you died you fail and start over.
I can go on and on about the wackness of DMC4 but that would b a long read. Seems like they can't get the even numbers right in this series. I guess it wasn't too bad but I expected it to equal or surpass the awsomeness of 3. I played roughly 5-6 hours of DMC4 and 99 hours(max the timer can go lol) of DMC3.
I guess what Im sayin in fewer words lol is that DMC4 lacked the "intense-ness" of 3 because it was too easy gameplay-wise.
